J-Etna
Alford’s J-Etna is a disruption charge specifically made for the humanitarian mine action (HMA) community.
Based on the Vulcan for performance, the J-Etna uses a binary liquid explosive charge known as Alford Liquid Explosive (ALX). The purpose of this binary liquid explosive is to overcome the unique challenges of holding, storing and transporting explosives during humanitarian demining operations (the two liquid components stored separately are not classified as explosive material).
The jet forming cone (JFC) is capable of penetrating the casing material of the munition to a depth of 27 mm resulting in the combustion and deflagration of its main charge.
