Several models of Silva’s compasses are available.

The Expedition 4 Military Compass is the best-known infantryman’s and officer’s compass.

The Expedition 4 has GPS position measurement scales and is graduated in mils and degrees (6400/360).
It has tritium lighting for improved reading at night which is activated by daylight or by a lamp, and has 6 hours of autonomy.
Patented red and black North/South alignment line.

The Compass 5-6400/360 model is a compass with a complete base plate for experienced users.

Scale in mils and degrees, integrated ajuster for magnetic declination, magnifying glass, positioning aid (for GPS), rubber base for precision work on maps, graduation ring which can be illuminated up to 4 hours after being exposed to light.
